Assigned Disclaimer: Refusal to acknowledge or learn about issues of difference and equal treatments regardless of sexual orientation, religion, gender, nationality, etc. is not tolerable and neither should your peers tolerate this sort of behavior. Anything submitted or said targeting hatred, discrimination, and/or bigotry in ways described above, at a minimum, would receive a zero. Writing assignments must be your own work. Plagiarism is not accepted; it will result in a zero. If you are referencing any images, links to other source(s), unless you took the photo(s) yourself, using scholar journals, using your assigned reading(s), NPR, technology, or something that is not your own work as a source, you must give credit to the source you are using.
To better prepare for the papers in this class, be sure to keep track of your thoughts at all times. You should already have this done with every assigned reading in this course (dialectical journals). Take notes during and after your reading. Sometimes your thoughts or interpretation of the literary text do change. If something is challenging for you or you would like to extend your ideas, do more research on the topic.
Your response papers should be persuasive. Your responses should include arguments that rely on support from within the readings, in-class discussions, and from reliable sources. Readings, discussions, response papers, and more should be referenced and integrated, as relevant.
Avoid all the perfunctory writing. Give the context, get to the point, support the point. Do not conduct anything more than three pages. Avoid going off-topic talking about yourself, unless it ties to the work, otherwise stick to the point.
